It was difficult to choose for me too, but Arno got my vote in the end - not for production, but the plectrum tapping bit which was so '80s I laughed.

Interesting selection of songs for an 80's power ballad solo. Two things are needed for a power ballad: good composition and a seriously mean production/over-production.

In one of the entries I did find a homage to Animal/Hysteria which was cool. Another one had the big solo entrance but the ending of it was abrupt. Another was almost an arpeggio odyssey paying homage to the other aspect of 80's ballads. Like I said, interesting... tough choices ahead of me.

Joh, Arno came back with a late run there.

Alas, it wasn't enough to topple you. Respect.
Good tracks from you and Brian. Yours was more 80's though and deserved to take the cake here.
Have you thought about the theme for Feb yet?

That's the worst part of winning a challenge. I have no frikking clue. Ok I have one but it's stressful because I've picked absolute dud topics in the past.

Congrats Don, and...... you win the prize for choosing the Feb theme.
What a challenging theme you have come up with too - let's get to it as the only way to improve is to do.
