A strat for Paul

We've been looking at getting a guitar for Paul and in terms of versatility we want to go the strat route....

We found one of these and Paul really likes it. He is a relatively inexperienced player at this stage so not looking for anything too over the top......

It's a Mex strat but I like what it offers:
Modern C Neck
Maple Fretboard
Texas Specials PUPs

We tried it out through a Hot Rod Deluxe and really liked the tone.....Bridge PUP was especially nice with bite but not too bright...

Any thoughts out there on this one.....

That looks perfect for an inexperienced player - good enough to stay with him as he improves and to inspire him to improve. Will hold it's value fairly well for when he does want to upgrade. You like it, he likes it, so all told, what's not to like? ?
