All these models strat from $2500 and up. And they are quite nice looking guitars!
It looks to me, the pro custom are just custom shop models, of models that are already available.

The Kingman C in Antiqua Burst, the Kingman C, the Newporter and the Classic Koa Auditorium Cutaway.

The Collector Custom models though, are very different, and look amazing imo!

Melanie Steinway burns the wood to put graphics on, whereas Sara Ray paints!
      Melanie Steinway Tribal Moth Dreadnought

      Melanie Steinway Tribal Ocean Newporter

      Sara Ray Pulp Novel Auditorium

      Sara Ray Pirate Bay Newporter

Joe Wood de los Muertos Dreadnought

Interesting news. From what I have read on the acoustic forum, fender acoustics really do not have a reputation for good tone. These new guitars will truly have a mountain to climb, because at that price point the competition is fierce.

Side note: Others may disagree, but those custom paint jobs are fugly.
well, from $2500 to $5500. so ja, they will have to be something special!

regards the paint jobs, personal taste hey! i quite like the engraved ones and the Joe Wood model.
the Sara Ray, uh, not much!
Then again, this is just on looks!
I dunno... I kinda like the one with the butterfly (???)
I do a lot of drawing and, if it is painted on, to get that level of symmetry is crazy hard!
              That ones engraved burned! ?

From the mind of talented graphic artist Melanie Steinway comes a new variation on a Fender Acoustic Custom Shop instrument. Steinway used a meticulous wood-burning technique to apply her creative imagery to this elegant moth-themed Collector Custom Series dreadnought acoustic, creating a limited edition of one. The Acoustic Custom Shop then finished the instrument, with remarkable features including a solid Engelmann spruce top; solid mahogany back and sides; bone nut, saddle and bridge pins; nitrocellulose lacquer finish; and Fishman® electronics for superb amplified tone

Done. Only mods and admins can start new threads on (or move them to) this board. Gives me a chance to filter out the marketingese from press releases and just leave the info (surprising how little is left sometimes ?).

Sure thing! Thought thats what you're going for! but i like this board! Thanks Alan ?
Yeah I've seen Melanie's work before (One piece with tonnes of wolves burnt into wood is mindblowing!)
I must say she is a brilliant artist!
One of the few I enjoy who use media other than pencils, pens, paint and a flat surface such as paper and canvas
I think this piece will sell more for it's artistic value than actual sound qualities
I mean a few years down the line someone will try sell it off as a 1 off, Steinway hand carved Fender Custom Shop ? Lots of key words to attract buyers
Nah, it'll most likely be a limited production run.
                      100 / 250 / maybe even 500 models.

                      or not. apologies. :-[
the melanie steinway and joe wood models, those are the only ones. the sara ray models though dont mention how many of each will be made!

Nice looking guitars, I while ago I met an african guy who burned pictures, landscapes etc onto guitars. Fender should hire him ? He also burnes pics and landscapes etc on leather maybe they should design a leather covered guitar and have it "burned" as well ? Imagine a ostrich leather covered guitar with the big five on it 8)

Very nice, apart from the one with the Strat Headstock.

Somehow I just cant get my mind around an acoustic guitar with a Strat headstock. :-\
