Cort has released their new guitar line-up for 2013. New models include: the Sunset NY (electric nylon string); the CR Custom (Classic "LP" shape with a flame top, Duncan JB and '59 pickups); a new Graphics series; and a brand new line of acoustic amplifiers and accessories.

    Good Stuff

The Sunset Series intrigues me, I had a play on a Sunset I which has a TV Jones , instant GAS and at a very good price.

Yeah - I reviewed that one recently (although not new - a 2012 model). Pretty cool and great value-for money.
I do really like those Sunset I's.... My only gripe is the lack of a hardtail version. You either have to have the Bigsby, or you have to have a solid body (Sunset II)!

The other Cort I would rather like to get to know is this one.....

        Anyone played one?

the paint job is a little flashy, but its like a similar, but much much cheaper PRS HB II!
I actually quite like it too! will have to ask around, but im not sure my regular shops will have in stock.. as usual..

also seems like a reasonably expensive guitar.. list around $1250, street around $875.. This was also the M900, but seems to have had its name changed.
still, it has piqued my interest! Thanks Big G ?

Agreed. Plus the Sunset II is full humbucker rather than the TV Classics - really a very different guitar.

However, Bigsbys are part of the whole Gretsch vibe that they were going for with the Sunset I. Still the Sunset range is new, so there is a chance that they will expand the range if they do OK with them. Of course, you could also fit a Yorktown with TVJ pickups (and they tend to pop up s/h at good prices) or replace the Bigsby on a Sunset I with a trapeze TP and sell the Bigsby.

Yup. Decent, but to be honest, the one I tried was a bit lacklustre - more like a solidbody than a hollow. I expect a bit more life from an archtop, even a semi-solid like that.
