We put up our house for sale and it seems that the banks have given the people the money to buy and now we're looking for something else and quick.
There should be a provision in your sale agreement for occupational rent if you can't move out by transfer date- or if the buyer moves in before transfer date. It's not ideal, but it means that you won't be turfed out.
You're also in a stronger position now as you have guaranteed money coming in for your sale. When I bought a couple of years ago our offer was not the highest, but because we'd already sold we had far more cash than the other bidders and our offer was much safer. So we got the property.
