Once available only in Japan, the Richie Kotzen Telecaster® is now available to a worldwide audience. His signature Telecaster model features a beautiful flame maple top on an ash body, with a distinctive combination of DiMarzio® Twang King (neck) and Chopper T (bridge) pickups.

Other premium features include a satin-finish maple neck with a large “C”-shaped profile, 12”-radius maple fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays, three-way blade pickup switch with “barrel” tip, master volume control and rotary series/parallel switch, single-ply cream pickguard, gold six-saddle through-body Telecaster bridge, Gotoh® sealed tuners and gold hardware.
im just not liking the burst though.. its too solid imo.

Sometimes gold is the best looking ?

Ja... think I need a more natural pic! Not that I'm in the market ?
Kotzen has had a sig tele and a sig strat out for ages hasn't he. I know this because it's the only Fender guitar product that's ever vaguely interested me.

Ja, if you watch that vid I posted he talks about how it all came about in the '90s.

The change is that these MIJ Tele's were not widely available previously, and now they are. Or something.

But it has a fat neck!!! ?
I was going to say, they've had a Ritchie Kotzen sig for yonks. Course now with that MIA mojo, it'll play itself!
Yeah, Fender Japan have been making these Kotzen Sigs for ages.

I sold a Kotzen Sig Tele here on the forum, it belonged to Grant Fouche...sold it for 11K.
Very very nice guitar with a baseball bat of a neck.
                  Made by Tokai, I think.

Are these new ones made in the USA or Japan?

yessirree.. these are made in the USA from what i can tell, and available now worldwide, and not just Japan!

i must also just mention, the specs tell of a reversed control plate, but the picture shows a normal one! :-\
I'm liking this. I'm not usually one for dark wide bursts, cream pickguards or gold hardware, but it all works together very well in this guitar. The contoured body (with bound top!) and fat neck should make for a very comfortable play for me too.

Yeah, been sneaking a look now and again. I also really like the tone from those Dimarzio pups, especially the bridge pup. Very distinctive overall ?

                            Emphasis on vaguely. ?

It's just the amazing sound of Strats with single coil DiMarzios he and Howe got on that incredible, amazing (you have to own it!) Tilt album that piques my interest in this case.
Made in Japan, oohhhhhh yes now I remember. That's why I know about this Fender. (I try to know as little as possible about Fenders and rugby. Ugh. Blights on the cultural development of mankind.)

After I smuggled in my Ibanez J-Custom ("only available in Japan" blah blah) I was so impressed with the seller's service I browsed his other wares and had a brief infatuation with the MIJ Kotzen Strat sig. Due to my love of that Tilt album as stated.

Yah I know. TMI. Cry me a river. ?

? Looks like a great guitar. I wouldn't mind one. Maybe an excuse for you to get used playing a baseball bat neck? ?
Yeah look if I ever cross over, the Kotzen strat will be the thing.

I do get some beefy neck satisfaction from my Warwick Corvette bass though...
