serven Good Day All, I am actually trained as a classical violinst (Did Grade 7 Practical and Grade 6 Music Theory with Unisa) from years ago. In highschool I had a small leisure band that played Nightwish / Metallica covers and it's there that the guitar bug bit me. However, starting my own business after school there was no time for music anymore. Now, a good few years later I am finding the time again and enjoying it very much. Right now I am a bit more interested in the writing of music and I am by no means a proper guitarist (self trained with no direction with a time-waste approach) but going at it anyway. My equipment as follow: Instruments: * Fender Strat (Bought properly-broken and abused at cash crusaders and fixed it up), however with the years it now looks probably worse again than what it was ? * Yamaha G225 Acoustic Nylon * Some Ritmuller Solid Body Guitar (currently my favorite - off the start for a while except for leads/solos) * Ibanez Beatles-Recreation Bass * Some random I-forgot-the-brand Mic Pedals: * Zoom 707 II Multi Effects thing * Tokai TDS-1 Distortion Pedal Amps etc: * Some really crappy guitar amp with speaker blah (I rarely use it) * Peavey Unity 1000 Series 8 Channel Mixer * Behringer EURODESK SX3242FX 32 Channel Mixer * A serious arsenal of speaker amplifiers * Technics Studio Monitor Speakers * Technics Studio Bass Speakers More Interesting things: * Alesis Quadro S4 Hardware Synthesizer * Cubase recording / mixing / FX computer rig Hoping to meet some other real music-making lovers out there who doesn't look down upon you because you're not "god of the solo" ? I just enjoy it, it is a hobby and I love music dearly!
ActionArnie serven wrote by no means a proper guitarist (self trained with no direction with a time-waste approach) but going at it anyway. Welcome, probably describes a large percentage of us on this forum so you'll feel right at home!
Neon-Gecko serven wrote Hoping to meet some other real music-making lovers out there who doesn't look down upon you because you're not "god of the solo" ? Fortunately there are few of these around here. Most folk are friendly and all too willing to help out. So welcome and have a blast!
DDR4LYF Welcome to the forum! Always know that when the like minded will spend time together, they become more like minded! I'm also a "hobby guitarist"! Music should always be fun (talking non-professional)!
