I just finished learning classical gas...
It's a brilliantly composed song and I just love playing it..
Can you guys recommend any other songs in a similar vein to
classical gas?

Awesome track! You'll have heard it in Cheaper by the Dozen 2, when they go looking for the kid that ran away. It's used in a few movies, I think.

Played by a couple of different dudes, I think I had a version by Tommy Emmanuel.

Originally composed and performed by Mason Williams, it's basically made him a rich man - one of those numbers that has been performed by everybody, from Tommy Emmanuel to Chet Atkins to Glen Campbell. It's been used in dozens of films and TV shows (everything from The Simpsons to The Sopranos).

I had a single by "Beggars Opera" , it was a good version of Classical Gas.
Anyone heard of Beggars Opera?

I'm not sure what you mean by "in a similar vein", but I am currently working on Bach's Air on a G String, and I think that's a very satisfying piece to play. Not just technically but also musically - a lovely composition.

Greensleeves perhaps, I have been following Martin Taylor's Lessons in the Guitarist.
He has stripped the arrangement right down and it's difficult to play it without adding your noodling which takes away the jazzy feel to the piece.
I am sure there are some more involved arrangements, ala Tommy Emannuel style.

Ahhh, Chet Atkins is the version I had. I remember not liking Emmanuel's too much (despite enjoying a lot of his other work).
