Dom ... are you still going to Tony for lessons ? He has been a huge help since I started lessons with him last year.
hi chris
nope, trying guitarexcellence. mainly because they come to your house, and i get along quite well with the guy i'm with, although he's quite a bit younger than i am. i stopped going to tony a long time ago, and only went for about six or seven months but, man, what a teacher. in those few months i went to tony, my playing improved substantially, across all areas. i developed (of course) a huge interest in jazz, but my understanding of playing music on the guitar - regardless of genre - deepened remarkably. he's played with, and taught, some of south africa's real talents.
ideally, i'd love to go back to tony, but time and distance are against me. my kids were much younger then, and they are more demanding now. i can't really leave mrs dom alone with them for two, two point five hours on the weekend any more. you'll probably know from experience that a session with tony is a bit more than just a guitar lesson ?
have fun, and sponge everything you can from the guy. he's a great guitarist and an awesome human being. (quite often, i find, these things go hand in hand.)
