So I'm 18, heading to university at the end of the month, and have been driving with my learners license since April 2011. I have failed my drivers license...

Getting an SA Drivers License - Impossible?

The legit route or under shady circumstances? I'm trying to figure out, if I should congratulate you or rat you out?

Then again if your actions are nefarious would you answers honestly?

but when you're pulled over by cops, they dont ask whether you bought your license or earned it!

I did it the honest way at a station in Hennenman, their parking was a little weirdly laid out but otherwise it was smooth. Was extremely nervous though.

My mom bought the cake out of good spirit afterwards not as a bribe. The lady who accessed me on the day was fair.

You still need to use your handbrake... don't get into the habit of not using it. Thats way worse.

As humans we get lazy and our good driving practices slip. I reckon we should have to do refresher courses every 2-3 years. It would save a lot of lives...

I think, ideally, you'd need a separate license to drive at night, and a further one to drive on a highway or any road with a speed limit above 100 or more than 2 lanes in each direction.

And a separate one for driving and talking on your mobile fone at the same time becasue I see that even the cops are struggling to drive properly when they do that.

awesome news bud....................now as the guys said, you can learn to drive properly.

Stop street - Handbrake, neutral, observe, flicker gear if turning, observe, clutch control, handbrake down, observe, then go.

First time I flunked for looking around too little, second time they wanted to flunk me for looking around too much until I said, FFS, I'm F-ed if I do and F-ed if I don't. So they passed me.

Aaaaah the old days. Plus I took the test in my dads brand new 300zx and the guy wasn't really paying too much attention to me.

I feel it should be like a pilot's licence. So many hours at night, in the rain, during the day, at peak times etc.

My sister was involved in a hit & run today in Sandton. guy didn't stop at a circle and hit them. Then he just drove off. Someone took a pic of the guy as he left so they have his licence plate no. So annoying.

I'm quite passionate about road safety, I've lost too many friends on the road
