Hi everybody,
My old Ibanez Roadstar II (S/S/S configuration) needs a new pickup selector switch. Would a genuine Strat switch make a good replacement or would it be better going for something like StewMac?
Thanks

Yeah a Fender packaged branded switch will be great - it is a CRL made switch and they are great. You can also find the same switch packaged by Ernie Ball, DiMarzio and a number of others.
The Oak Grigsby brand are also good, but less commonly found locally, except the four-pole SuperSwitches.

Thanks Alan, I'll see if my local music store has Fender switches in stock. Cheers

I ordered a new switch for my Tele on ebay, it's so small that it arrived quickly and cheaply from the US.
Just be aware that Fender make two 5-way switches, the conventional one that can be wired bridge/bridge+middle/middle/middle and neck/neck, and the 'super' switch that is a bit bulkier but can be wired in any combination.

Yup - that's the one.

Thanks Alan. Any idea if these are available locally at a reasonable price?

Yup - Fender SA keeps stock. Some shops might have the DiMarzio packaged versions, but they are the same CRL switch inside the package.
