NPD... Jekyll & Hyde V2

So I picked this baby up in the classifieds...

The reason I wanted this pedal was because I wasn't really crazy about the lead channel of my Hughes & Kettner edition 25 tube. Using the Jekyll to drive the clean channel of the HK really does wonders. The awesome thing about this pedal for me is that it can go from a very slight bit of hair to a proper lead drive. And adding the distortion whilst engaging the sharp switch, really brightens up the tone and gives it some nice saturation. I only got it this morning so I haven't fiddled around too much yet, but so far it has proved to be very versatile. It allows me to tailor my tone exactly the way I want and get the right sound out of my amp.

Had an interesting shootout yesterday with Blues Brother. We fired up his JTM45 and tested the Jekyll & Hyde against a TS808 by using a bypass pedal switcher because both pedals have buffers which may affect the sound. The left side of the Jekyll &Hyde is said to be a Ts808 clone with a few improvements like more gain and a bass boost feature.
With the TS808's knobs turned to midnight, the Jekyll sounded similar with it's gain and level turned to 9 and 10 o'clock. After that all is utterly changed. The Jekyll has alot more gain when pushed further than 12 and the Jekyll seems to have a bit more clarity.

We're looking to make some vids next time of the shootouts, but we need a proper recording mic and a mixer for that. So if anyone in the Alberton area is keen then we should arrange a party 8)

That sounds cool! I would love to see some shootouts between pedals! It'll help the people with less access to gear to hear what different overdrives do!!!!
