Greets of the festive season to all,
Busy with a move and I will have to store a bunch of instruments ☹ - might be a few months, might be a bit longer. The storage space I have a is a very dry cellar. Temp & humidity are not controlled, but paper and wine have survived without much issue for 20+years. I rekcon my biggest issue is rodents (havn't seen any evidence) and minor temp & humidity swings during winter.
Stashing 2xElectric Guit, 2xElectric Bass, 4xacoustic guit (3xnylon + 1xsteel).
I'm thinking of using some vacumn packable bags :
http://www.tevo.co.za/product.aspx?pid=47, to wrap the guitars within their respective cases. The clothes hanging bags are 1.25m long and retail at around R100/2. Seems like a decent option to keep minor moisture at bay, keep dust away and perhaps keep the rat smell off a guitar if they decide to make a nest in a case? (Aside from metal cases, what would deter a rat?)
So this coupled with some rat deterrents (rattex) are my thinking - any other idea's?
Thanks!
