Anyway, back on topic. I loved my Marshal MG50 for many years, but have recently discovered that it's a PoS that no one likes or wants. I can barely give the thing away.

well, in that case, it's definitely almost only you. i love the albions. still waiting for an opportunity to own one - yes, even from way back then. just wish they made the TCTs in a lower output than 35w. i played that combo at music connection forever ago and think i made a mistake not taking it for around (or maybe just under - can't remember) 5 clicks. mystery why more stores don't stock them...

My Roland Cube 30x - gets a very bad rap on this forum.

I was pleasantly surprised at how it handled a jam session with other tube amps.

I like the Cubes generally - the Micro Cube is still my go-to recommendation as a beginners' or practice amp. The 30W Cube is admittedly a little "boxy" sounding, but that's not surprising given the size of the cab, so it's a (small) trade-off for the portability. It's still a fine amp... I think most of the guys complaining about the Cubes are disappointed by the single-high gain model of a Mesa - Line 6 usually offers more variety for those searching for "Teh Br00talZ".

I think in that kind of price range/power rating, I'd also look at the Fender Mustang II - I know the III and it's a pretty decent amp for a modeller.

I am very happy with my Cube, It is easily carried, has delay and reverb (I feel that the reverb could be better) enough clean volume in a bar and good lead tones ( if you experiment) for 'Old Toppie" music. Happyness for me!

SS amps mean solid state ? as opposed to Amps running on cathode tubes or valves
usually solid states use modeling technology to mimic overdrives and high gain

MIC or crafted in the hands of angels, I'm pretty sure these are just your basic clones of famous pedals and would probably work the same?
Except I've seen joyo pedals much cheaper on the web...
