Ever since I sold off my old RGA32 to vellaJ, I've been itching to have it back, so operation nag started and I admitted defeat and decided to have a look around to see what else was on the market.
I really wanted another RGA 32 as I loved everything about that guitar, until a buddy reminded me that I never really cared for the Ibanez actives that it had on it, so I was going to be R2000 in the hole by the time that I put some other pups on it.
So, on Monday I grabbed the phone and expanded my search for an RG on Junk Tree. Less than an hour later a guy in Midrand dropped me a line that he had a RG470 CM that was rodded that he wanted to sell.
I've had an RG470 before and loved it, but the colour never grew on me. Translucent Ice I think the name was.
The colour on the one for sale was luckily Crimson Metallic. Made in Korea in 1995......
The best part of the deal?
Dimarzio John Petrucci Crunchlab in the bridge and Air Norton in the neck. The price on those two pups meant that the guitar was only a couple of hundred.
Plans?
It's got 12's on it at the moment and is tuned to C. I want 10's on it and for my trusted buddy (guidothepimp) to do one of his set-ups on it. The guitar plays amazing, but I know with his help that it'll sound way better once done. The wiring isn't 100% up to scratch and the knobs don't match 100% as well, so that's on the list of things to do.
Still looking for that acoustic........lol.
