could anyone care to tell what pickup that is he uses on the classical guitar, the piezo thats sticks on the bridge?
i haven't seen something like that before, and wanna read up on it.

I worked with Derek briefly years ago while he was still studying music at UCT. He was a member of the Gilgamesh Ensemble (playing mostly viola), who I did sound for occasionally. I was playing drums in a rock band at the time (late 90s) but when we needed strings and tabla for a track, Derek was one of the players we got in (along with Gilgamesh cellist/tabla player Lara Block). He was a monster classical player even then.

It's a contact pickup (similar to a Schaller Oyster) - more commonly used on the top. Looks like a DiMarzio Acoustic Model.
