and yet another amp build

I started building this amp yesterday. Took me forever to find all my tools. I'm working fairly slowly and carefully, I'd like this one to fire up first time too.

Some pics to make this post interesting:

The bottom (this one is going to be in a combo with the control panel facing upwards and the tubes hanging down). From left to right the sockets are 12ax7, 12ax7, EL84, EL84 and EZ81.

Controls. That's all it will have, 3 knobs and a standby.

Heater wiring is done.

I'll have some more pics tomorrow, I'm on holiday so this shouldn't take too long ? I do need a few small components so I may be held up if I can't find those quickly.

I'm going to start with the turret board shortly.

Hmmm, couple of tranny's and a chassis and I reckon I've got enough parts for another Marshall, or a Trainwreck Liverpool....

If you're building another Marshall, there's only one option for you, a small, carryable in one hand combo like this one (also the best sounding one of the lot haha) ?

More to follow, I'm missing a few parts so I need to go and source them, hopefully Communica or Yebo has them else I'll only finish this one next week, if I have to order from RS. But, no need to fret, there's another amp to build on my table (literally) which should have all the parts, so if I have to wait for parts I'll start on that one, which will no doubt give you even more GAS than this one, knowing your love for F3nd3r amps ?

I love these builds! Enjoy. What are you planning on doing with the cab? Tweed, tolex or wood?

If you looked closely you would realise this is not the Tweed ? This is a Marshall.

This amp and the Tweed Deluxe will both get Fire Engine Red Tolex, this one gets Bluesbreaker style grill cloth and the tweed will get Black and Tan Grill cloth. ? The cabinets must still be built, I asked around locally but getting a cab built is outside of the budget for this amp so I'll have to do it myself, which can of course lead to much FAIL.

Placing all the components in their spots on the board, Now its easy enough to see where there are missing ones.

Yeah, same as in my own 18 watt, although I didn't choose. I asked for a standard set of parts for a Lite IIB and I got the OOLLLLDDD schematic's values, so now I must go get the others now from Mantech, as the schematic I'm using is slightly different, mostly because I'm using a split power supply to VVR only the power tubes and phase inverter. Next time I'm just ordering all the small parts myself.

I tried those MKT's in my JMP before I rebuilt it and didn't really like them compared to other polypropylene caps I have. They added a graininess to the sound that I didn't like. Much preferred the Illinois Capacitor caps.

My own amp has them in but the coupling caps are those orange philips things. We'll see how it turns out. I think it'll be just fine. Can always get Sozos and stick them in at some point, for live playing however, none of these things matter much at all, and this amp will be played live a great deal.

Cool, well I just thought I'd mention it, since I did a back-to-back test with them and some others in the coupling positions. It might be worth you doing the same at some point, just to note the difference, which in my case was quite pronounced.

Turretboard fitted inside chassis.

I need to attach the output jacks now, install the VVR's mosfet, wire the tone controls, wire the output transformer and put all the wires that connects the turretboard on the valve sockets. Laziness overcame me now so I'll do that later.
