Good luck! The El Capistan is one of the few Buy-it-for-life pedals, I reckon. Give it a few weeks, but I would expect that you'll need to go New in the end.
I wouldn't have thought there'd be too many digital pedals in the buy-it-for-life category. Still, most would need their cold dead fingers pried away before giving up a Strymon pedal.
