OK... this one has me stumped. Buddy Miller plays this one on the Band of Joy DVD. Any ideas anybody?

And I think this is a Gretsch Black Penguin (Miller's has a bigsby)

I see 'em... and I flushed my browser cache to make sure I wasn't picking up local copies. Also checked with another browser and when not logged into GFSA. If I couldn't see them then I could fix it - but I can so I can't. ?

While Buddy is best known for his Wandre solosist, he also plays a Gretsch Roundup (which is similar to a Penguin, but with "country" accoutrements like studded leather on the sides and a "belt buckle" tailpiece):

As to what he's playing in the picture - I dunno, other than it's a Gretsch hollow with D'Armand pickups...

What Buddy is playing in the first shot (and thanks to Arnie for the fix). That tan semi-acoustic. It's not the Gretsch Roundup - the pickup selector is in the wrong place for a start.

I confused the issue by posting a pic of the Black Penguin, another of Buddy's left field collection that I did manage to grok. He's got quite an arsenal on that DVD, including a Silvertone, a Danelectro baritone and that fab little mando-guitar.

I was going to do some screen grabs from the DVD this morning, but my blankety-blank lap top doesn't have a prt-scr key (or any combination I can find that replicates that functionality).

OK... I now think that's a Silvertone.

I think an S1384. Really a Harmony that was rebranded both as a Silvertone and an Espanada.

It has aluminium bindings. Buddy is not drawn to the conventional when it comes to electric guitars.
