Ibanez rg1570 pick up help

Love my ibanez rg1570, only problem is Im more into blues and jazz.
Would new pickups help with getting closer to the tone I'm looking for?
It's got stock pickups and ive been told they are very hi gain.
I'm playing through a marshal class 5

The best cleans and crunch tones I've ever heard coming from a RG comes from my Ibanez Universe. (Dimarzio Blaze pups.) They respond very well to volume- and tone control... I think similar pups for a 6-string RG would do a great job. You really need to roll down the volume on your RG to find the sweet spots where your fingers, amp and guitar combine to give you the sound you're after. (Especially seeing as you've got high-output pups.) You could also try some Pafs or even P90's. An RG is obviously more of a Rock-orientated guitar but from owning plenty of RG's to date I know they're very versatile instruments that can cross genres quite easily. Have a look at the Andy Timmons RG (AT100CL). It features a Dimarzio AT-1 and two Dimarzio cruisers... Maybe a good starting point to consider as well?

Ultimately, before spending $$$ I'd first dedicate enough time to try and find those sweet spots I mentioned. Try many different volume, tone and gain combinations -both on your Ibby and on your Marshall. You could also lower those humbuckers far into the body and then try finding more good combinations... You should be able to find useful tones if you put in the time. Last option would be to replace pups and very last resort would be to replace the guitar -depending on how heavily you're into blues & Jazz...

I really love the thin neck and the overall feel of my rg.

If you want to hang on to the Ibanez, I'd probably go for lower output pickups.

I have the Alnico IV set and they are pretty good - great for the money. I've got better pickups, but not anywhere near the same price range.

I've also got the Rebel 90s in my 12-string, which are the humbucker sized P90s - a good option if you want more of a single-coil type clarity.

Maybe try the Joe Satriani Setup with a Fred and Paf Pro set...that is ofcourse if you don;t come right with the Toneriders.

That RG 1570 is a great guitar. If you love how the neck feels, 99% of other guitars will just be a compromise... Sounds like you'll have to start researching pup combinations if you've tried everything to get the tone(s) you're after from your stock setup... Take your time. When doing research also keep in mind that the same pup will sound different in different tone woods and/or body styles. It shouldn't be hard to get Strat sounds from your RG. (If that's what you're after.) For more Gibson-like tones, you'll need quite dark (even 'muddy' sounding pups) to contrast the inherent bright tone of a basswood-bodied RG. My Jem (American basswood) with Paf Pro's and Jem single coil has a very 'thin' sound compared with every other RG I've owned or played. Great for cleans and solo work.
+1 for also considering Joe Satriani's setups... His JS is very much a modern take on a Strat and has the same tone wood as your RG...

I can get some great warmth out of the bridge pup, only issue is when I crank up my class 5 the sound gets very muddy I've resorted to using the center pup for a more start lime tone most probably cuz it's h-s-h.

I still need to tweak with the pup hight and As a last resort I'll swap the pups out for something different.

How dose the basswood body effect the tone?
Are they any small tweaks/mod I should look in to?

What about a set of seymour duncan 59s..

The neck is great warm blues on tap.. Of course the opposite is true, if you ever want to rock out some metal, the bridge 59 won't cut it..

I have used it for rock though with no big stress..

There is also the JB for the bridge and for many guitarists, 59 and JB is a staple combo..

For more elaborate pups, I have started using bare knucklepups and am still completely blown away by the blackdog pup.. It is single hadedly the cleanest sounding, most dynamic pup I have EVER used.. Surpirses me every time.. And it is 9 odd ohms so not exactly hot

On the Tonerider front I can second the Alnico iv's....very nice tone and versatile for the price......

I would recommend doing the Dimarzio Tone Wizard on the website.

It will more than likely suggest you using any of the medium output buckers
