I watched this documentary over the weekend, WOW! Do yourselves a favour and take a look. Brilliant history of all the bands that came through the Sound City studio and all the chart toppers they produced in the 70's on that MONSTER Neve console. It also shows the effect of the digital era on the old studios of the day. It's amazing how we've come full circle! Highly recommended 8)

An engineer friend after seeing that documentary wants to record on tape. He has no knowledge of it but knows older engineers who can guide him.
Anyone offer any tips on the process or what to lookout for? Could be damn awesome, I would also like to hear the comparison of analog vs digital.
That being said if it happened, he would record to tape and then transfer to ProTools for Mixing, would this essentially negate the process?
