there are ppl that say tone is in the fingers, these ppl are right , u may have joe's kit down to using the same pick and u wont sound like joe ...
I have the tone in my fingers, just need a LP to express it!
You seem like an LP Custom guy to me, Squonkster. It'll go great with that killer suit of yours. ? Customs can look over the top when you see them in a store, but they look awesome up on a stage. But best paired with a pretty raw amp, a Les Paul. Even for "cleans" I want a little hair on the tone to get that Les Paul feeling going.
Tone in the fingers, blah blah. Of course it is. But if the guitars all sounded the same then Bonamassa-hulle wouldn't bother having different guitars. You can hear the difference between Clapton on an LP/335 and Clapton on a strat - and he's using the exact same fingers. The LP has the clearest, most distinctive version of the Gibson electric sound. Truth be told, even Gibson's modern hollow ones sound very much like that. Although I reckon a solid LP gives you that last 5%. ?
