Luckily the research has already been done for you by the guru's of Tom's Hardware ?
Have a look at this article:

Just cross-reference the article with a decent South African online retailer to figure out how to best spend your hard-earned.
Fortunately due to consoles lagging behind the PC in the last year or so, graphical requirements have, for the most part, remained relatively unchanged so "entry" level graphics cards are really worth the money now. Hope this helps ?
Yeah which is good in a way saves ones money for guitars ?
But sucks bec graphics haven't progressed like they use to ?
Preach, brother. I'm still deciding whether to upgrade my PC or keep saving for a Tokai LS-Whatever-I-Can-Get, despite the fact that I can hardly do any guitar justice at all...
But as for graphics improving... I'm OK with that, actually. For far too long games have sold themselves by strength of their graphics alone, while things like plot, story-line and innovative game mechanics have been left by the wayside. Point in case: Dwarf Fortress. It has graphics straight from 1992 but it's one of the most engrossing games I've ever played.
