Hi guys, I'm looking into buying an inexpensive power conditioner for home use, tentatively looking at the Samson PS10 or the PB10, can anyone offer some advice / input on this topic. According to Samson the PS10 is a power conditioner however Bothners has suggested this is in fact not a conditioner but merely a powerstrip. Also whilst on the topic any other inexpensive conditioners one should consider?

They are power conditioners, so someone told you a porky or is misinformed. They filter and isolate the mains power as well as providing surge protection.
What they are not is line interactive units (able to store power and use it during power outages and brownouts). They also do not filter and isolate each output. But units that do start at about R6K last time I looked (and are big - usually at least four rack units in size). To be honest, most of us don't need these features.
There are other units available from Furman and other manufacturers, but nothing (AFAIK) anywhere near the same price range.
