Admittedly Gibson are overpriced, but there is no way a quality guitar can be built and sold at one tenth of the price. Half the price... maybe... (see Tokai). In short, if you can't tell the difference, then you are welcome to the Chinese "Gibson". Just don't try tell anyone but yourself that it is "just as good as the real thing".

If you have Supremes, then some of them are and even better!

No love going into that.
I think making your own stuff is under-estimated.
Or getting a friend to do so.

mmm... :-\ I'd rather have nothing on the headstock than have 'Gibson' when its in fact a Chmibson... I HATE fakes! Give credit where its due, dammit! A good copy of the original that proudly displays the authentic brand, I can handle, but a fake? Under absolutely no circumstances... Doesn't matter how good it sounds... >☹

they do that cos:
1- gibsons are infact too pricy and
2- it is a brand name so ppl would buy it just to show they have one.

sadly we as humans in some twisted way have (mostly) stopped competing
in how well we do something, such as guitar playing, but rather in what guitars we own.

you can see the same in the car market and of course the smartphone market.

owning a fake gibson and showing it off is just as pathetic as owning
some behringer gear and a pc and calling yourself a producer.

however, youre a producer if you make great music despite of your behringer gear, and youre a great guitarist if you can make even a cheap chinese guitar sing like it was a gibson.

and not the other way around.

You probably wont hear any difference between a plank of chipboard with strings on and any guitar with what you played in your video.

Difference between anything made in china and the real thing is passion for the product and attention to detail.

Sure... in 1982. But this is now.

However, the quality of Chinese production, or American production is a non-issue when talking about fakes. Since fakes are inherently deceitful there is absolutely no incentive whatsoever to produce quality instruments - people are buying it to show off their fake status item. It doesn't hurt their sales that they're rubbish guitars made of off-cuts and pot metal one little bit.
