New Hendrix album coming in March...

The musician's website says "People, Hell and Angels" contains 12 previously unreleased tracks recorded in 1968 and '69.

Rolling Stone revealed the album cover on its website Wednesday.

Hendrix recorded the songs apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience as he considered new, experimental directions for his follow-up to "Electric Ladyland." He plays keyboards, percussion and a second guitar on the album.

Might be good stuff but I can't say I'm still listening to any of the other "new release" material that's dropped the last few years :-\

i once bought a double CD of "unreleased tracks" of jimi hendrix in the bargain bin.

............no good recordings at all or good songs even. i can understand why it was never released.

Pretty sure it's a rehash of some dodgy bargain bin recordings wrapped with a fancy insert.

interesting article about the hensdrix estate in the latest edition of rolling stone mag by the way , well worth the cover price just for that article...

by all accounts mitch and ~~bruce~~ noel sold their rights way back in the 70's for 100k and 300k dollars an at the time the article was authored had no claims against the estate however the ywere looking possible ways of getting back into the roylaties due to the boom in CD and online sales...

Not sure their estates are still pursuing this option , at the time of their deaths they are NOT getting any more royalties...kinda sad that both died nearly paupers ....

Anybody got this album? What's it like?

I have it, but still making up my mind. I should actually read up on this album, I can't see how so many songs were never released and sound so good. Did other players fill in the gaps? Were these tapes just laying around? It raises to many questions for me to enjoy it.
