Thanks for the replies folks....
I'm not really sure how to describe the type of music? I guess the best I could do would be folk/acoustic/rock? Everything I write seems to ome out more acoustic folky sounding than what intended it to be. I am looking for clean warm smooth sounds I guess? Kinda Jazzy tone. My friends LTD does it beuatifully, so I guess I'll just have to try this one out and see how it sounds?
What should I expect to pay for a used one in good condition? What was their 'new' price?
Cheers
G!
You should understand while I wouldn't label this guitar a "one-trick-pony", it was not designed with the main goal of celebrating clean tones. They are more aimed at heavier rock/metal/etc. tones. I think if you think that the LTD has a warm clean tone you should have a look at a Mexican Fender (or American if you can afford one). If its out of your price range buy used, there are some great deals on gumtree and on the forum classifieds. Instruments don't "age" in the sense that they start not working so well and so forth.
That's just my opinion, I've been there. Go out and try some other guitars as well, you don't want a mate pitching up with a fender and then decide to sell the LTD ?
That being said, I don't know about their prices, best will be to give your local music store a call for a quote on new.
