Hey Guys

I found an amp I am interested in I just need some advice please.

I stay in Midrand, Joburg and the amp is located in Sunningdale, Cape Town 7441, South Africa so unless someone trust worthy is there I would have no idea if the amp still sounds good.

Any advice please let me know.
If you're upgrading from your valvestate you won't be disappointed, what type of music do you play?
I generally play bluesy type stuff and a lot of hillsongs united, Planetshakers type stuff in youth services.
The "Deluxe" amp range is pretty versatile. The "Blues Deluxe" is, as I understand, a somewhat older version of the "Hot Rod Deluxe" (which I have version 2 of) with a slightly different circuit and an Eminence speaker instead of Celestion. The tubes are the same, however, 3 x 12AX7 pre-amp and 2 x 6L6 power-amp.

If sparkly cleans and bluesy crunch are your thing, this is a great choice. The drive channel is very mild compared to the "Hot Rod" range, however either amp take pedals very well so you can always jazz up your crunch options with a decent overdrive or distortion pedal.

Lots of clean headroom and reasonable versatility. It's also easy to bias the amp yourself (there is a built-in bias test point in the amp, all you need is a multi-meter) when you swap out the power tubes.

        What sort of price?
If I do buy it I am coming to your house for a scotch and re-biasing. Its R6500. The problem is I cant test the amp as I am in Joburg.

That's a good price, I think. Most "Hot Rod" amps go for somewhere around R8k. I'm sure one of the Cape Town dudes would be willing to go test-drive the thing for you (hint hint). ?

That would probably be ideal...actually that would be perfect...
I'm sure there are lots of Cape Town guys (especially guys like Rikus & KayDub who play in worship teams) who'd be willing to test drive the amp for you.

                Hope you come right.

                Cheers
It is at "the guitar centre" in cape town. Trying to organize shipping now...
Today's a bit of a problem, but if you're keen on someone having a play and a listen I should be able to take a drive during lunch time tomorrow... PM me if you're keen.
The owner is Tony there by guitar centre... known him a while, just don't get out there that often anymore. Don't think you'll be disappointed with the buy though, with a nice drive pedal you can crank that crunch up a bit ?
Thank you everyone for the input!! I will update on friday as that's when it should arrive.
