Picked up this lovely lil amp yesterday as a bday present. Vox Pathfinder 15W. Love the retro look of it!
Not bad for a small solid state, quite loud, and the tone is amazing. Too bad I'm not allowed to play it till my bday in 2 weeks..

Hey , enjoy the new addition in two weeks !

Nice one. :applause: :woohoo:
I got a lil pathfinder earlier this year and I'm besotted with it. Great value amp, and really nice tone for a SS.

Congrats on the new amp. Picked one of these up myself for practice earlier this year. Cool little amp and takes my pedals really well which is a good thing when living in a townhouse complex - not a very AC15 friendly environment, so the Pathfinder gets more use at home.

Picked up a Vox Pathfinder 10 yesterday and I agree - it makes a Fender sound like a Fender. ? Really impressed by it!
Danele
ok so ive noticed something weird with the amp..
on the clean channel, its perfect. but on the overdrive channel, it produces a weird humming noise, which disappears when i touch he strings or any metal on my guitars (tested with 2 guitars).
a possible grounding issue?
joealien22
What overdrive channel?
Do you mean when you engage the boost function? Or increase the gain?
Danele
yeah the boost button pressed in, sorry my bad.
joealien22
Well I'm no expert, so I'm hoping that some of the more experienced players might shed some light, but I would assume its possible noise from the cable or some electrical interference of sorts. But Im surely nowhere near the correct answer. Please rather wait for a proper answer before you start trying to amend it.

Not weird - your guitar pickups always pick up a little bit of hum (yes - even humbuckers) which is amplified quite a bit when you have drive. When you touch any earthed metal part on the guitar, you become part of the shielding and it cuts down some of the hum.

Congrats... long as you can just sit there and look at it while you drool it should be OK ?
Danele
did some research and apparently its the 2 prong plug that has no grounding, since it needs a special plug it goes into, then into the wall. gonna swap it out with a standard 3 prong tonight n see whats what.
joealien22
Let me know if it makes a difference please. I also heard about that, but I've been too lazy to change it. If it makes a difference then maybe I'll have some motivation to change it.

Probly comes with a kettle cord as standard. Swop for one with a three prong plug.
I still need to wear rubber shoes or I can feel the slight tingle as my lips touch the SM58. ?
