Someone's in for the high jump. I see they are trying to blame gale force winds, but anyone setting up scaffolding in Cape Town knows to take gale force winds into account (my father has been hiring out and setting up aluminium scaffolding for 20 years in Cape Town with no major incidents). It's like saying your ship sank because the sea is very deep.

Dude i was standing a metre away with my friend when it happened.
We had to help pull people out from underneath the structure.
It was the scariest thing ever....

what was up with the reporting, at first they said that it was someone doing promotional work for the company. Next I hear it was a fan.

I agree with what Alan said, when I saw that the engineers had signed it off for being safe, I was thinking BS!!!! Someone didn't inspect properly....

Any stage higher than 600mm needs a certificate, any freestanding roof over a stage needs a certificate.
I've done building projects where an engineer never set foot on site, but the slab gets a certificate.
