Actually, I'm serious. Never could stand the things on guitar (not just the Boss). They give you some wide shaping possibilities but kill the tone.

If you must use one, like any EQ it can go pre or post distortion, depending on your tastes.

Graphic EQs are difficult to get right in rack format and impossible to do in a small format. They do have applications in PA (on the mains or monitors), but IMO a shelving or parametric is far, far more usable on guitar.

Never tried one myself. Knowing his stuff, I'd presume it's an improvement over stock, but I'm still not a fan of graphics for the application. I'd rather find something like a Empress, Diamond or EHX EQ pedal or even use a wah at a fixed point.
