Hi, my name is Daniel.
So what happend is that I have an ibanez with the hardware color cosmo black. This finish of the hardware was terrible because then of a year, the paint left from the hardware and looks terrible because it looks like a terrible hardware.
I had another Ibanez before that one and it happend the same thing and I ask to friends of mine with ibanez guitars and they told me that the same thing happend to them.
So I want to buy this new ibanez S prestidge with flame top, it's very nice and it have the new bridge zr tremolo. It looks as a very good guitar but y don't want the same problem of the hardware finish, that at the beginning is very nice, but then of the time it becomes uggly and like rusty
This is my first thread, I will be very thankfull if you answer to me the must quickly posible

just ware and tear....
also where do you live? the rust can be from the salt water in the air(if you live near the coast) and from the sweat on your hands when you play...the paint coming off can be from, sweat on your hands, bumping it,etc.
can't you replace the hardware on it?my les paul is starting to lose colour on the pick ups,but i'm replacing 'em to EMGs...
in the back of my amp there's a lot of rust from the air,i live in PE and my guitar sometimes shows signs it's gonna start rusting, but it's my baby and i check it every day so it never gets that far ?
Martyr
oh yeah, and i don't just think it's Ibanez,if you thinking it's just their hardware,i think it's got something to do with the air around where you live, how you handle it,sweaty hands, etc.
wait for someone like alan or rene to answer, they should know more than i do

I'd say to apply to Dr Ducks Ax Wax to the metal parts aswell. Will obviously not bring back the Cosmic black, but should protect it against rust. My RG1527's hardware finish is also slowly but surely "leaving", but it makes the guitar look like a well played instrument,.
Martyr
how much is that dr ducks ax wax Ex?something i'm considering buying for my baby ?

Black, gold and nickel hardware always wear. It's not just an Ibanez thing - every make does it. If you want something that is really durable, chrome is the best.
Cosmo black wears even worse than normal black - it is a lead-free black (RoHS compliant so it can be used on guitars sold in the EU).

@ Wezz : I think TOMS charged me R 40.00 when I bought mine. Not bad if you consider that with this, a little really goes a long way.

Well it's better than a freezer... they never fit in there.
AlanRatcliffe
They do if you trim the legs a bit.

What happens if your woman is a bag, you might just suffer from hessions disease if you lie next to her.

Sorry to destroy your illusions of me being all prim and proper, but I have a filthy mind and a truly sick sense of humour.

That's the other advantage of trimming the legs - hold her by the hair and she's the right height. No need to lie down. ?

You and me both... I'm surprised I'm still allowed around children.
Don't get me wrong, I like children, but I don't think i could finish a whole one.

The smallest ones are easiest to finish in one sitting and are the most tender too. As an added bonus they fit into a standard sized microwave, so are ideal for a quick snack.

Bwahahahahah!! awesome..I take it then that you subscibe to Cyanide and Happiness then?

True, the toddlers irritate me with all that tapping on the oven glass, wanting out.
Midgets aren't bad, taste like venison but there's no guilt 'cause they're adults.
