It's possible - your ad might well be the reason they joined. But if you are at all uncertain, please let me know and I will check the history of the member - I can see a little more info than you and can at least usually tell if they are a local IP address and if they are using a free or conventional email addy.
Otherwise, approach with caution and take the same precautions you would with a Gumtree deal. Get a phone number, call and talk to the person. Arrange to meet in a public place and never give/send any money without having the item in your grubby mitts first. If you feel uneasy, back away...
