What a man. I think it's worth giving a shout out to such a credible guitarist. I've recently been struck with the RATM bug (again haha), and just listening to his stuff is outstanding. And not as easy to play as one might think. I especially love his approach to guitaring and how he gets the weirdest effects from it, have you seen his pedal board? Its tiny haha.

I think the main pedals he uses is the wah and digitech wah, everything else is bells and whistles.

I love his stuff; all of the RATM albums were cool but the first one in particular is top stuff . I also like the first Audio slave one.

For a totally different side of Mr Morello, have a listen to his solo project, The Nightwatchman. I'm out of bandwidth so can't share videos but check out One Man Revolution, The Road I Must Travel, and Until The End for a start.

Yip. He uses that Wammy So well. He does use wah quite a bit too; Bulls on Parade for example. There's a 20 min YouTube vid where he shows how he gets all those wierd effects. It's really cool.

Thanks I'm gonna check that stuff out. I have always been a big fan of his mostly RATM stuff, the audioslave is alright.

I think the best part of Tom and RATM is that they kept amazing grooves over some really inventive stuff. Their use of dynamics was incredible.

Last time I heard he was Doing Street Sweeper Social Club. Pretty good, but it's not Rage. I think it's an age thing; If you were a child in the 90's, you'd prefer RATM.

Yea, I've seen the vid. Ive actually been trying his DJ technique on my Epiphone, its good fun. Makes me wanna acquire a Digitech Whammy now to go ape.

I definitely prefer Rage against Audioslave. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris Cornell, he is in my mind the best rock (male) vocalist, but still, Rage just has that quality that cannot be beaten.

Yeah. I prefer Rage and Soundgarden to Audioslave. I like the first Audioslave Album but I'll take out Louder than Love (any Soundgarden album actually) or RATM over it nine times out of ten.

Love Rage/Morello stuff too - especially "Renegades" - some awesome interpretations of old tracks ...

That board in the photo is from A'slave period - the difference with Rage is that he used a flanger instead of a Phase 90 (eg Killing in The Name intro),
and in Rage there was no tremolo.
The other trick is all the pedals are in the effects loop - including the wah (cool contributing factor to the faux DJ tones)
Although the JCM800 is a dual gain footswitchable 50 watter, he has no footswitch for controlling gain 1 & 2's selection -
which means he's getting his cleans and dirties via the good ol' guitar volume knob - old school!
He uses that delay (DD-2) a helluva lot too for solos and staccato effects - especially in Audioslave
The Whammy is also an original Whammy I - the current Whammy V isabout the closest you'll get to that ...
