New Telecaster Accessory Day? Is there such a thing? ?

Chrome ashtray bridge cover. Genuine Fender part, ordered off fleabay and it arrived a few days ago.

Took it out the packaging, fitted it and! it fell off.. was too big. Downside to eBay is you never really sure if it'll work but a slight bend in it and it now fits snugly.

Fender part no. is 0992271100 Bridge Cover Vint Tele Chrome if anyone is interested.

Must be the most pointless accessory, you fit it, look at it, then remove it as it gets in the way ? But I do think every tele needs one.. for some reason 8)

As you say it's a cool add-on....so many ashtrays were removed from the old Strats. Those originals must be worth a fortune now. :?

I bought my 52' reissue second hand, so I never got my ashtray ☹. As cool as it is, I don't see myself spending money on one any time soon. Nice Tele BTW, almost jizzed my pants seeing it, even though it looks almost exactly like mine. Gets me every time.

Party was R160 shipped if I remember correctly, not that bad.

Thanks, trying to make it look more like a '52. Pondering replacing the flat top tone/vol knobs now with the domed ones, may even remove the Custom Shop Designed neck plate for a blank one., (like a real '52 had) ?

Ja, there are a few subtile differences. Blank neck plate, Logo on top of the varnish, all screws should be flat heads, I'm not sure about the knobs though, but I'll take your word for it. Still a beauty of a guitar. What model is yours, BTW? I can't see from the pic, does the grain of your wood shine thru the finnish?

Philips screws were brought in in '52 so some original '52s had a mix of flat and philips and others all philips. Mines a Mexican Baja Telecaster. Can see the wood grain through the bodys finish ?
