Ok.. a quick gear run down..

The plasma is only for video playback. We are planning to build a proper audio recording studio for music. So we'll be thinking about the plasma as video foldback. Saves alot of space.

I'm the manager of this studio. For the music side I'm going to be partner.

Jip, it's the new control24, very nice desk. To answer Manfred, the desk is the controller for PT. With 16 on board mic pre's. Total control of PT. Still have to get the pictures when it's set up for 5.1

I dont use any outboard gear, seeing that I have all the plugins I need.

Really? What about minor comps for vocals that are troublesome (>☹) to to keep controlled? Or do you hardly have that problem?

In the past with me I always just used plugins but I found that going in, the vocals (and a few other things) were just TOO dynamic and peaking at certain places and quiet in others.
I just have one outboard comp just to even out those bastards slightly and then process afterwards.

I'd love a few more mic-pre's and comps for outboard gear then I'm pretty much happy. ?

dean.. i dont have to record vocals here with a vast dynamic range. cause its all spoken..

when the music side comes online hopefully next year, then i'll get a few comps. thinking bout the focusrite liquid channel.

drums and vox for music i always record with comps. but then its more for an effect, i hate creating it in the mix. rather record it that way. old school i know, and limits one, but it forces me to think.

I was using the C/24's onboard preamps.. Not too bad, but they tend to be a bit 'hot', so I'm taking the plunge and soon to be in my hands will be a Focusrite Liquid channel!!

Why buy it analog and take up racks of space when you can get it all in one?! I'd love to have all those EQ's, Preamps and comps in thir own rack, but $$$ and space will always be an issue..
