Amps for BluesHarp

I have been playing BluesHarp for 3 years and convincing
my wife I need to own a $1000 Harpgear amp is not something she
agrees with. She thinks my BluesJr guitar amp sounds just fine!

How I would love to have Craigamps build me a Bluesharp amp.
We have traded emails and he's said it is possible....but will cost...!

Does anyone here have anything to add?

Like R4500ish (i know there is is one in Sandton T.O.M.S cos i was there this week) Its all tube by fender so you should be able to get it pretty much anywhere in this country... maybe im stupid but just figured id throw it out there!

AFAIK the old style champs are still popular with the harp crowd. Lots of companies do some kind of clone.

Have you tried seydel in Germany. They make incredible harps I'm sure their amp is top notch!

I too can do a music room jam with the Fender BluesJr, but I am
referring to an onstage gigging amp really.

R7000 for an amp the size of a postage stamp... ??? ☹ I don't have any 'expertise' on the harp and still learning to use one... simply blow into my vocal mike (not too close mind you) ?

The harp does sound awsome with some effects though, but sure a little guitar amp (10watts) with some distortion will do the trick ??? ???

Karel Mars of this Forum now builds dedicated harp amps....beautiful in tweed. However shipping cost to the UK may make it not so viable hey ?

The modern amps just don't do it for me - why not look at vintage amps? Some lesser known brands such as eko can still work well and are cheap. You want a fuzzy dirty sound after all ?

And as far as I know the type of mic and the mic holding technique is just as important.

The reference to ' mic and mic technique' is accurate and true too.

I'll just add.... with my high impedence Bluesblaster JT clone I
can't turn my Blues JR up beyond 2 or 3 before feedback.
With a regular vocal mic I can go 5+, the trade-off is loss of
classic sound/tone. With my guitar band gigs, I now trade-off
tone for more volume so's I can be heard.
