So i'm looking into recording off my laptop and i want to get an external sound card/Audio interface. I dont know too much about what's good and what to avoid but i've managed to come up with two options. Which is best bang for buck? What else would you recommend. not so much concerned about the software as much as the hardware itself.
I'm not sure what equipment and toys you have now..or how much you want to spend...but..
I would look around for a used Digitech GNX4,has onboard 8 track and looper, and acts as a usb sound card when connected to a laptop
It can record directly to the software Pro Tracks Plus, that comes with it or drag and drop your onboard recordings into it
Ive tried it with Pro Tools,Cakewalk and Ableton softwares as well without a prob.
If I could go back ten years,I wouldve shelled out the cash there and then, despite the price tag bringing tears to my eyes.
