Hi,

I am a student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where I am working on a project regarding guitar effect pedals. As a consequence, I am in need of people with your expertise to answer a short survey.

I feel that John Mayer is really at the top of what he does (except the new one... country...blehg!). As good as Clapton is, I don't really enjoy his music that much. I've heard that John Mayer is incredibly arrogant, does that put you off of listening to a musician (not John Mayer specifically)?

I like that John Mayer has made a certain style of playing popular so that i don't have to play punk rock BUT i think he raped that style pretty bad and then went live show like SRV tones... which i liked but no he had no need to copy! Eric Clapton i really haven't listened to for nearly a decade.

Mayer has incredible tone , but get's lost in the solos, most probably difficult to marry pop and the blues!

Clapton always gets a raw deal by guitarists, but he invented rock guitar in 60's with Gibson and Marshall.
