don't get superglue in your eyes

yes, it happened to me on saturday night, in the middle of nowhere with the nearest hospital or doctor pretty far away.

was busy glueing some stuff into place, and as i pushed it in, a little bit of superglue(Qbond) jumped back into my eye, the watersupply on the farm was off as they were repairing the pump, but lucky i remembered about some water somewhere and got to it within 30 seconds.

it didn't burn my eye, but it was irritating.
i tried to phone the nearest doctor, with no real luck,needles to say i jumped on the phone to check on google and it seems to be a normal thing to occur, and not fatal at all, its 2 days later and i feel fine.

if you do get large amounts of superglue in your eye, its better to quickly wash out with water and rush to the hospital

Moral of the story, wear protective glasses when working with superglue.

Often get a chip of wood shot into my eye while routing wood.

Safety is ingrained in us relentlessly where I work. In contrast the things people get up to in their backyards with zero protective personal equipment scares the s*t out of me.

Btw. Superglue needs moisture to set. Washing with water (unless you're The Flash) will actually help it cure quicker. The good news is that superglue is sterile and will de-laminate from your eye quite easily. (Small quantities at least...) Hellova irritating and uncomfortable -to say the least...

The things I have done in Labs and in my backyard with inadequate PPE... Its a wonder I still have all my eyes and limbs. But the same with okes doing dangerous stuff and not understanding the risks, its a miracle they don’t just erupt in flames

Glad to hear that you're ok! It's always very concerning when you're not sure of the consequences.

On a lighter note perhaps one of the modulators will make this thread a sticky????? ?
