Hey Guys,
As shared I'm slowly getting my pedals out of boxes and putting my floor board together after a 2yr hiatus. I own two Eventide Factor pedals, but one of the downsides is that using the pedals you can only bank up, not down and you need to enter into different modes of play to access other features.
The other issue is wanting to sync the tempos together without the need for using MIDI.
My design idea was to have a single box housing 5 switches, 2 for bank up/bank down for each pedal and shared tap tempo switch.
I based the concept on a schematic I found floating around of the Digitech FS3X, known to work with the Factor pedals, but the shared tempo switch was somewhat perplexing as closing either of the NO bank up switches (T+R) would send a corresponding (T) signal to opposite pedal.
After racking my brain a bit I saw that it was all still possible with these SPST switches, I just needed an extra pair of diodes on the Tap Tempo switch to block false triggers.
Works like a charm, accurate tap temp on both units (even better than MIDI from what I've read) and the bank up/bank down switches are a life saver!
Cheers
Matt
