2X12" Cab question
Explorerlover
So I'm thinking of getting rid of my 4X10 Marshall cab and to replace it with a 2 X 12 cab. Preferably loaded with 2 Vintage 30 Celestions.
Anybody got any ideas of what is currently out there as far as 2X12 cabinets go or what to look out for? I checked Thomann, and there was a rather "cheap" Harley Benton cab with the Vintage 30's already loaded, but I have no experience with the brand.
The cab will be paired with my Marshall DSL 50 head.
Thanks

Laney have a couple, mostly quite good prices too. They might even have a model already loaded with V30s (I know they have had in the past).

Do you want open or closed back?
Go check out the shop called music company in melville. They import blackstar gear.
Those cabs are loaded with the speakers you want and the build quality is just awesome!

I find this combination of green with the wheat grill cloth quite to my liking...

DO you know who stocks them locally ?

They have a very good rep overseas, but no-one imports them locally AFAIK.

That's the thing ya....gonna add up not so nicely even when bringing in an unloaded cab.
Would've loved to get one and load it with WGS Veteran 30's

The Marshall handwired series have a 2 X 12 cab that is the same size as the 4X10 slant. I think its exactly the same.
This means that you can use your same cab - just change the baffle & speakers.
I have just made 2X12 cab & I used the plans for the 4X10. It came out great. I've source the a pair G12H 30 Anniversary & some Tayden speakers from the UK & will try a mix up. It will probably be the Celestions in this one.
I've done the hard yards on building cabs & (think) I more-or-less have got it right now. Let me know if you want any advice sourcing materials etc.
