I noticed recently that the cloth covering in front of my Roland Bluescube amp has become brittle, and tears with minimal contact. Not sure why, because the amp was only used indoors and never was exposed to sun, etc.
I was wondering if I should take it off and leave the speaker exposed, or is it best to keep it covered and replace the cloth? The amp is only ever used indoors, so I don't expect the speaker cone to be damaged. What do you guys think?

The cloth is mostly cosmetic, so it's safe to remove (but possibly a little ugly underneath).

If you decide to replace the speaker cloth, you should not replace it with anything other than speaker cloth - it's normally selected to have minimum impact on the sound waves coming from the speaker. If it's too hard to come by around Worcester and you still really want it, I have some black lying around 8)
