Hearing Protection?

I'm looking to invest in a quality hearing protection unit, since I really want to take care of my ears.

I got a quote from a Pretoria based company (Noise Clipper) for molded protection.

Does anyone know anything of the quality? I can't seem to find a lot on them online although they look decent but are quite expensive to buy without any brand reputation.

If not, any other suggestions?

A lot of my mates who are drummers are pedantic about their hearing. They've all invested in noise clippers and love them. I haven't done much research myself, but i'm sure all of these guys did as most of them are drumming professionally.

From what I understand, they can put in specific attenuation depending on what frequencies are needed for you, depending on what instrument you're playing.

I have a set from a company called protec-ear. They get you to go to an audiologist and have your ear moulded, then make custom attenuating plugs.

I don't know how much those other ones are (they look great, btw) but these cost me about R700 including the moulding a few years ago.
I would recommend them to anyone. Plus, they're local, which is rad.
