Cape Town move

Hey guys, There is a strong possiility that I might be moving to Cape Town end of October, due to the family business needing more bodies. I just started getting involved in "open mic nights" etcetera, and started actually meeting some of you (great) guys. Any pointers when I get there on getting involved in the music scene? I don't see many posts under 'events' for Cape Town happenings...

There's plenty of opportunities in Cape Town both in the Northern and Southern 'burbs. When you get here and are settled ask again, I'm sure you'll get shown around ?

Am I the only one who finds this statement extremely disconcerting? What exactly is this family business for which you need more bodies? Nitebob & Sons Graverobbers? Pretoria North Cadaver Traders? Kidneys R Us?

And what makes you think that CT will be able to provide more bodies? Have you depleted the Pretoria graveyards and morgues or are your efforts just meeting with too much resistance from the local police now and you feel it's time to move your operations elsewhere?

I own 20% of a HiQ in the Cape. The one manager relieved himself of duty on Friday, and seeing that all my family is there, I'm going down to fill his position. Good 'ne Deef, that had me laughing real good. On second thought, working at a HiQ ??? maybe I was better off having you believing I was in fact a grave-robber...

Cape town is awesome.

in the bellville area, you can go to Rabbit hole in Durbaville on thursday nights, its a real jam, and you can just pitch up and jump on stage, there is a few other places that hosts open mic nights in the area.
for regular shows, you could go to buckleys, edward street on a saturday night and grab a burger at hooters.

stellenbosch got some lekker events from time to time, cape town you could go to long street, mercury, assembly.

........you could go watch the resident guitarforum band in action

but just get here first. then you can figure it out.
