It took a few years, but I finally found Betty Sue! 1971 Ibanez Concord 698M

It's a guitar I've been after for many years and this beauty popped up on Gumtree in the Western Cape a few days ago, had to wait 2 weeks for the previous owner to drive it 200km to the courier in Cape Town to drop it off, longest 2 weeks of my life!

Ibanez Concord 698M - made in 1971 with the original case

It still had the original pamphlet and Ibanez stickers inside, I still cant get over how good this guitar sounds.

I have one of these too, same year. Was my dads first guitar! He still played it until he got his Morgan OMR.
He took it to the border when he was in the army, hiked all across SA with it. Its got such character! Still a super guitar. Neck is a little thin for my tastes, but I take it out when im in Pretoria, and always play the old mans favorite beatles tunes on it!
