Yeah, the drive channel's very one-dimensional. A friend of mine has a MG250 and I was trying to get a mild dirt sound out of it the other day but the gain pot is pretty much an all-or-nothing type affair. I could get clean with the gain just off zero; slight crunch after moving it less than a millimeter , and then Iron Maiden levels of distortion after about another milimeter. After that it doesn't really do much. It's pretty useless 'cause if it gets bumped even a tiny bit, you either go back to clean or to heavy dirt.
