Phil
Hi,
Just joined the forum. I'm mostly interested in the little PA/lighting board (the only one of its kind I could find in SA) but also here to learn more about guitar world. Im a sound engineer but also a part-time weekend warrior muso?

Sound engineers who care enough to look stuff up on forums are awesome! ?
Welcome.

Welcome, this forum has a wealth of knowledge that stretches far beyond just the guitar world.

You are very welcome!

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes!
I really love interacting with forums for tips and bits of insight! Not only for live sound (I spend an unhealthy amount of time on prosoundweb) but for musicians knowledge. I'm really interested in learning more (in depth) about guitar, bass rigs (why they are put together in certain ways) to mic and mix them better. I'm also happy to chat about sound/lighting stuff. I never went to a sound school, rather I was taught on the job by some knowledgable (admittadly old, and strict!) guys, after that I started to study acoustic theory, electrical/electronic theory etc.. in my own time. I own a sound/lighting rental company in CPT and do some location recording aswell for fun!?
Aside from that I play keys/piano, organ, flute, tin whistles, drums and fiddle around on some other instruments too
Hope to learn some stuff here and happy to give any of my small and humble collection knowledge?
