Yeah, that range looks good and the SE Single cut looks somewhat LP-like. Only one volume and tone pot though: EDIT The Tremonti has the two pots per pickup.

This one's a semi-hollow, so not really LP style but damn, it's one of the fewPRSs I've seen that's really grabbed me. It's pretty ?

I think nut width, the taper (how the thickness differs from the first to the 12th fret) and profile of the neck have as much - if not more - to do with the feel of a neck as the thickness. Roundbacks or U-shapes always feel fatter than Ds or Vs. I find I can handle the thicker necks easily if there is a soft V (my Strat) or if it's not too wide (my 12 String and nylon both have 1-15/16" nuts). However a full concert classical (2" at the nut) I can only handle if it's slightly thinner.

AFAIK (but remember, I'm no LP historian ?), the '58 and '59 LPs had the same specifications, but as with everything then the tolerances were wider and the modern reissues tend to ascribe the thicker necks to '58 and the slightly thinner ones to the '59s. Sometime in the mid '60s they made the nut narrower too.

EDIT: a mate of mine has a semi-hollow, it plays like a dream and sounds just lovely. (yes, i did just say 'lovely'.)

Vella, does it have to be a single cut?

Ever consider some of the double cut Ibanez Artist range (upper specc'd ones?)

My AR 300 Artist is simply an amazing guitar for the money and is deff more guitar than people give it credit for ask guido as he also has one.

Ps........if you ever sell the RGA, I want first dibs on getting it back............that is one guit that I REALLY regret selling.

Thanks guys. I did consider the SE range as well, but those of you who have seen some of my posts in the past will know that I'm a shallow kinda guy, and a guitar's gotta look right for it to grab me :-[ Just didn't get that with the PRS range... This is going to become my main gigging guitar, so as well as having a decent sound and playability, I want to be happy with the aesthetics too...

I actually took a look at one or two feasible Ibanez options, and while they are awesome guitars to say the least, they just didn't "gel" with me, playability wise. Felt a little uncomfortable, not entirely sure why. May have another look at them...

And don't worry, if I do decide to part ways with the RGA you'll be the first to know. Though that guitar is just too awesome for me to say goodbye to just yet... 8)

I would not trade my PRS Korina SE for anything, and I paid less than what Epi's go for in store...and the build
quality is truly something. It should be noted it sounds more like a Strat than a LP tonally.

Should REALLY play the Artist range (not the entry level stuff, but the AR series) It doesn't play like the normal stuff.

I've got one of those PRS Semi-hollow bodies... Always wanted to give one a go so I grabbed her when the opportunity presented itself. Phenomenal playing and sounding instrument. Ultra low action. From Les Paulish tones to Tele twang available as well as some inherently unique tones in-between... Top quality as well - even when compared to my high-end axes. Crazy value-for-money.

V 100 is a sweet axe .., I played one at Music Connection in Randburg, it had a worn look to it.

I honestly didnt expect much when I first saw it mainly because of the brand, but I was pleasantly surprised once I started jamming away.
Its very comfortable and has sweet tone.
