Heh, we've had differing experiences of Dave ? Imho, he's the very epitome of a salesman, singe and ez refer to...glad he's moved to repping these-days, my bank balance is much happier. I'm not complaining, both Dave and Graeme are great guys, and I enjoy bumping into them wherever and talking music.
When I pick a instrument up from Gareth after a setup, I like the fact I can ask to test drive it in store and A/B against other instruments on some high end amps - always a education.
And yes, I do agree that Graeme does have a long term approach to keeping a customer coming back - it's why I'm happy to send people to him for advice - and usually they would get the same price I would on the gear they buy.
Personally, I'd skip the store and take ez up on his offer - a great oppourtunity for a young player to have his rig Q/A'ed by a fine player.
